UNO-R Service Awards 2013

The Star of Tolentine Award is given to a retiree of UNO-R in appreciation and gratitude for his/her legacy of service which has contributed significantly to the promotion and encouragement of the total educative action of UNO-R: The Cradle of Excellence as inspired by Saint Augustine and in the spirit of the Recollect tradition.

The recipient of this award:

(1)  has formally applied for age 60 retirement as stipulated in the OAR Retirement Plan;

(2)  may be full-time or part-time employee (teaching or non-teaching) provided that he/she must have rendered a minimum of ten (10) years of uninterrupted service to the University; and

(3)  must not have been sanctioned by the school administration for having committed any act contrary to the vision-mission, policies and procedures of the University.

A recipient’s compulsory retirement must fall within the school calendar of the current school year (June – May). A retiree whose retirement date falls outside of the June-May time frame of the current school year will be considered for the succeeding awards.

The presentation of the award is held during the University Week Celebration in a testimonial dinner in honor of the awardees.

The Saint Ezekiel Moreno Service Award is given to permanent, full-time teaching or non-teaching personnel of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos after he/she has continuously served the University for a specific number of years.

Originally organized and held during the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the University (1946-1996), the said award aims to:

(1)  give recognition to an employee of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos for having dedicated part of his/her productive life to the service of the University;

(2)  give incentive to an employee for his/her service to the University and to inspire him/her to remain loyal to the institution and her Mission-Vision Statement;

(3)  serve as motivation to other employees to remain loyal to the University; and

(4)  share with them the material and spiritual blessings that the University has been endowed with.

The recipient of the award will receive a plaque of appreciation, a service ring (for 25th Year Awardee) and cash gift.

  2. I saw your blog when I woke up this morning in my FaceBook NewsFeed. I didn't get the chance to ask my sister yet because I work abroad - time zone difference. Can't help but notice my sisters name Azela N. DeVilla isn't on the list of the 15 years service awardee ... just asking ..

  3. I was also looking forward to see Maria Azela De Villa under 15 years. I wonder why it was missed out. Was there a typo?

  4. Hi Miting Nunez and The Lurker. Sorry for this very delayed response. The names of the awardees were taken from the official list printed in the Service Awards Programs which was released/distributed by UNO-R Human Resource and Development Office. I am not quite sure of the reason why the name of Miss Azela was omitted in the list. As far as I know, an employee on Sabbatical Leave is still connected to the University. As to the Award thing, I think there must be a reason why she is not included in this year's Service Awards recipient. I will inquire from the HR Office about this matter.

    Thank you.
