TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING: TROPICAL STORM “BASYANG” (KAJIKI)
ISSUED AT 5:00 AM, 1 FEBRUARY 2014 



“BASYANG” HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AFTER CROSSING THE PROVINCES OF NEGROS AND GUIMARAS AND IS NOW APPROACHING THE SOUTHERN PART OF PANAY.

Location of Eye/Center: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “BASYANG” was estimated based on all available data at 20 km Southwest of Iloilo City (10.6°N, 122.4°E).

Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Movement: Forecast to move West at 39 kph

Forecast Positions: Tropical Storm “BASYANG” is expected to be at 574 km Northwest of Puerto Princesa City by tomorrow morning or outside the PAR.

PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNALS:

Signal  #2 (Winds of 61-100 kph is expected in atleast 24 hours)

Luzon: Northern Palawan incl. Calamian Group of Islands
Visayas: Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental and Cebu

Signal  #1(Winds of 30-60 kph is expected within the next 36 hours)

Luzon: Rest of Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon and Masbate
Visayas: Bohol, Leyte, Camotes Island, Biliran Province and Siquijor
Mindanao: Misamis Occidental and Zamboanga del Norte

Tropical Cyclone Warning: Tropical Storm “#BasyangPH” (Kajiki)

“Basyang” has intensified further while moving towards southern Leyte - Surigao del Norte area.

Location of Eye/Center:
At 4:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Storm “BASYANG” was estimated based on all available data at 201 km East of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte (10.1°N, 127.3°E).

Strength:
Maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph.

Movement: Forecast to move West at 33 kph.

Forecast Positions: Tropical Storm “BASYANG” is expected to be at 166 km Northeast of Puerto Princesa City by tomorrow afternoon and at 529 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City or outside the PAR by Sunday afternoon.

PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNALS:

Signal  #2 (Winds of 61-100 kph is expected in at least 24 hours)

Iloilo, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Siquijor, Guimaras, Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran Is., Camotes Island, Camiguin, Dinagat Province, Surigao del Norte incl. Siargao Is., Northern Part of Surigao del Sur and Northern Part of Agusan del Norte.


Signal #1(Winds of 30-60 kph is expected within the next 36 hours)
