A Tolentine Missosology Special Coverage of UNO-R Miss World Tourism 2013


The newly-crowned UNO-R Miss World Tourism 2013, Miss Fiji Sunshine Politico is flanked with Miss World Tourism 2012 Claire Porras and joined with First Runner-Up Miss Russia Neliesa Villaflor, Second Runner-Up Miss Korea Princess Vanta, Third Runner-Up Miss Thailand Cressa Pirote, and Fourth Runner-Up Miss Indonesia Aime Gilbuena.


Miss Fiji Sunshine Politico was crowned UNO-R Miss World Tourism 2013 at the conclusion of the festive and colorful pageant held at the University Auditorium on the 18th September. In addition, she also bagged Miss Sunsilk, Best in Production, Best in Cultural Attire, and Organizer’s Choice Awards.

Joining her court were First Runner-Up Miss Russia Neliesa Villaflor, Second Runner-Up Miss Korea Princess Vanta, Third Runner-Up Miss Thailand Cressa Pirote, and Fourth Runner-Up Miss Indonesia Aime Gilbuena.

 
 
 



Miss Sunshine Politico will represent the University at the Binibini at Ginoong Turismo 2014, an inter-school pageant exclusively for Tourism students in Negros, a project of Provincial Tourism in celebration of the Tourism Week.



  




  

Twenty-two (22) lovely Hospitality Management and Tourism students candidates taking up World Tourism and Asian Cuisine courses participated in the 2013 Edition of UNO-R Miss World Tourism. Participating countries included Australia (Leonette Amen), Brazil (Reshene Evaristo), China (Janine Pedroso), Fiji (Sunshine Politico), Hungary (Elyssa May Magdato), India (Mayumi Nasu), Indonesia (Aime Gilbuena), Japan (Masami Marayuma), Korea (Princess Vanta), Mauritius (Daisy Bacister), Panama (Leah Abella), Philippines (Rona Granda), Romania (Jayvelle Vidal), Russia (Neliesa Villaflor), Samoa (Noeme Sanchez), Spain (Eula Brinquez), Sri Lanka (Grace Orada), Thailand (Cressa Pirote), Trinidad and Tobago (Hannah Berey), Turkey (Feye Tenero), Ukraine (Harrah Silayro), and USA (Rogelyn Montano).

The Miss World Tourism is the youngest annual pageant held in the University beginning in 2012. It aims “to educate students on the importance of cultural diversity in tourism and at the same time let them experience to be glamorous and beautiful in order to develop gracefulness and confidence,” according to the event’s adviser.

Organized by Events and Management Class of the College of Business and Accountancy,  Aleah Robles Sevilla chaired this year’s Miss World Tourism Pageant with Miss Rosejean Contrevida as adviser.

Mister Mark Vargas, Miss Yvonne Cepeda and Miss CBA 2013 Ma. Melissa Garvila were the judges of the said pageant for this year.
