PERSONAL THOUGHTS

Motto:

“It’s not the pain that makes you suffer, it’s your own negative thoughts that make things seems worst. “

Describe yourself:

I can’t say I am simple because I know others will surely say I am not. Haha! I’m very stylish in everything I do and sometimes misunderstood by others. I am determined and always have the patience for success. I am full of aspirations in life and have been burdened and pained for so many times but still, I am strong for I stand tall still. I love sharing my ideas and feelings with others and I love helping those in need (especially when we talk about life dramas, haha). I love my family so much and I am willing to do everything for their welfare. I am a good friend and I value honesty so much. And most of all, God is the center of my life and I know that trials are only His way of making me a stronger and better person.

What does it mean to be a UNO-Rian?

A UNO-Rian values the character and knows how to value life. A UNO-Rian is not someone who prays when just in need but rather, he has God as the center of his life. A UNO-Rian has the spirit and will to stand tall in times of criticisms and judgments, determined to succeed and taught that excellence together with passion, pride and dignity is a stepping stone to the achievement of our dreams.

What is your greatest achievement?

For 20 years of my life, I think the greatest achievement I had is to be able to share my ideas and experiences with others. I am now a fourth year accounting student and a semester from now I’ll be graduating bringing all the memories and lessons UNO-R has contributed to my life. I am an experienced beauty queen aspirant and an academically inclined individual, and I can say that’s something I should be proud of. With God’s grace and guidance, I know there are more to aim and achieve.

If there is one event in your life that you want to change, what would it be? Why?

Life is always unpredictable and things happen in a blink of an eye. I am just human and of course there are a lot of complains I have in my life if only I could bring back the time. But I came to realize that those mistakes, events and situations had molded me to become a better person. What I've done in the past contributed so much in my present sense of well-being. And if given a chance to change it, I would rather not, because those events in my past have their purpose, and it is to make and sharpen me to be stronger and wiser.

Despite the natural calamities happening in our country, how can you say that it's still more fun in the Philippines?

Despite of the calamities happening in our country, I can say that it’s still more fun in the Philippines because of us, Filipinos. We never lose hope in whatever situations we face and our faith with God helps us survive every trial we have. Calamities may come and destroy our sceneries, but our positivity and optimism always makes us stand still in every downfall. No matter what calamities may happen, it will always be more fun in the Philippines for our hope, optimism and faith with God will always prevail.

How does it feel representing your college to the prestigious Mister and Miss UNO-R 2013 Pageant?

Since the first time I entered UNO-R during my freshmen years, I said to myself, “Someday, I’m going to stand out and make this school proud”, and the first time I watched Mister and Miss UNO-R pageant, it boosted my aspiration to join and win the crown, too. And now I am going to represent my college. I feel so honored and privileged that among the very big population of students of CBA, I was the one given the chance. The feeling is so overwhelming knowing that the faculty, the council and students support me and that they really believe in my capabilities despite of all the issues I've been through. Objections and judgments almost pulled me down but they persuade me not to give up. I was so happy representing the College of Business and Accountancy and I am going to do my best to make my college proud and soar with excellence and pride.

What are your preparations for this pageant?

In the upcoming pageant a week from now, aside from the busy daily rehearsals, I’m really exercising myself to go on a diet even though I am this slim! Haha! I’m avoiding sleeping so late to avoid stress, and of course praying for God’s guidance to give me the wit and confidence to do my best in the pageant.

Among the candidates, who do you think is your best competitor?

I couldn't tell who would be the best competitor for I believe that all the candidates have the qualities to win this pageant. We are all deserving for the title, we just have to enjoy and make the most out of the moment.

What or who motivated to win this pageant?

It is one of my dream to join Mister and Miss UNO-R Pageant, and with the support and help of my college, this dream has been given a chance to be achieved. My loving family is always at my side supporting me in every step of the way together with my CBA family, faculty, council and friends who believed that I have the qualities on what it takes to win the crown. They inspire me, defending me from all criticisms and issues, believing in my capabilities and never leaving my side. I know I can do better and I will give my best because of them.

What do you think is the relevance/importance of Mister and Miss UNO-R to the academic community?

This pageant will showcase not just the beauty and wit, but rather, it will showcase all the qualities a student has in any aspects of his life. A prestigious beauty pageant like this for me is not a competition, but a game where all of us should give our best and enjoy, and we, candidates, should be a role model to other students and make them realize that they can excel and make a difference too. A pageant like this will help every individual realize that it’s not just the beauty, wit or confidence that will make you stand out, but your whole character, your willingness to learn and be trained, and your faith with God that will make you a better person not just for yourself but for everybody’s welfare.

If you win the crown, what would be your personal advocacy?

If ever given a chance to win the crown, it will be my advocacy to remind each and everyone that struggles and trials are never a hindrance for us to aspire and achieve our dreams. We may be burdened and wounded in the battlefield of life but always put in mind that we are sharpened by God not to put us down but to make us stronger to stand tall.

Why should you be crowned Miss UNO-R 2013?

I should be crowned Miss UNO-R 2013 for I do believe that I have the heart and will to inspire others, the hands ready to offer if someone’s in need and the mind willing to understand. And most especially, my unending faith to God that will help me win this pageant because with God’s guidance and grace, I know I can always make it.
