Why did you choose UNO-R as your school?
I choose UNO-R because first this is an autonomous and excellent school. Second, it is giving scholarship to those students who cannot afford to enroll in college and lastly, this is the school where in every student has the opportunity to excel in their chosen fields.

What is your favorite place in UNO-R? Why?

My favorite place in UNO-R is the College of Arts and Sciences. It is where I serve as a student assistant in doing office works together with my co-READS and we treat each other like a family.

What subjects do you find challenging? Why?

It’s SCITES (Science and Technology) because I’m very poor in Science.

Do you agree that in love, age doesn’t matter? Why or Why not?

Yes, because in love, we’re not measured how old the boy or girl, instead it is measured on how you love the person whom you could be with forever.

Do you think the corruption in the Philippine government will end if the pork barrel system?

No, because although the pork barrel will be abolished, there are still people who cannot avoid corruption and they have no concern of the people who are suffering poverty.

Do you believe that READS scholars should refrain from joining student protests against tuition fee increase?

Yes, because we have no right to protest against the administration that gave us this scholarship.

How do you describe a READS scholar?

A READS scholar is Christ-centered, hardworking, responsible, persevering and knows how to manage his time.

What do you think are the most important qualities that READ scholars should possess?

Leadership, role model and perseverance

What are your most challenging experiences as a READ scholar?

They include time management, how to balance my time in studies and duties, patience in dealing with people, and responsibilities in work and studies.

How does it feel representing your group to the Mister and Miss READS 2013 Pageant?

Representing my group is a great privilege and that would serve as an experience.

I should be crowned as Mister READS 2013 because I am a dedicated, responsible, and a competent person.

We should study hard, aim high, soar high, and give all our best in anything that we do and of course offer it all to God.

B. PERSONAL THOUGHTS

Personal Motto:

“True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have.”

Describe yourself:

Simple, God-fearing, loving and a jolly person

Why did you choose UNO-R as your school?

I choose UNO-R as my school not only because of the scholarship program, but because of being a Catholic University that possesses the true core values that is imbued and taught according to St. Augustine’s teaching.

What is your favorite place in UNO-R? Why?

My favorite place in UNO-R is at the Adoration Chapel because it is where I can express my feelings to God. In this place, you can fully communicate and express your penance and thanksgiving to Him. It is also a good place to start and to end your hectic day.

What subjects do you find challenging? Why?

As a future Accounting technologist, of course, as we can relate, I find Accounting subjects more challenging. It is because these subjects demand enough logic and analysis; they also need more comprehension.

Do you agree that in love, age doesn’t matter? Why or Why not?
Yes, because love in its very definition is limitless for as long as you understand, trust and respect each other. Age is just a part of who you are and love will be another matter.

Do you think the corruption in the Philippine government will end if the pork barrel system is totally abolished? Why or Why not?

Avarice is a roaring beast, always ready to lure money and wealth. If there is still a corrupt politician inside the congress, we will not defeat corruption and poverty even though we abolish all kinds of advocacies/programs within the government. If that unwilling soul still exists, then I bet no change can be achieved.

Do you believe that READS scholars should refrain from joining student protests against tuition fee increase?

Yes, because first and foremost we are under the school’s administration. Another one, we READS scholars will not be affected by the tuition fee increase. Lastly, it will be against the administration if you do so.

How do you describe a READS scholar?

A READS scholar possesses the core values of UNO-R imbued by the teachings of St. Augustine and a Marian-inspired individual.

What do you think are the most important qualities that READ scholars should possess?

Hardwork, humility, dedication, and perseverance. These are just few of the qualities READS scholar should possess. Since these attributes make us unique, stronger and admirable among others.

What are your most challenging experiences as a READ scholar?

As a READS scholar, the most challenging experience I’ve encountered is to divide my time between studies and work. But in every challenge lies a fruitful victory. I’m glad I am experiencing this kind of endeavor because it helps me grow fiercer.

How does it feel representing your group to the Mister and Miss READS 2013 Pageant?

It’s a great privilege and honor representing my group to the Mister and Miss READS 2013 Pageant. It’s a rare opportunity.

Why should you be crowned Miss READS 2013?

Everyone deserves to win. But then again, crowning is not about winning and winning is not about carrying a prominent title. I’m just here to prove what a READS scholar has, and what a READS Scholar can do.

If you win the crown, what would be your personal advocacy as a READS scholar?

My personal advocacy as a READS Scholar is to introduce READS Scholarship to the people who are financially handicapped because I believe that everyone has the right to education. Through READS Scholarship their vision will come into reality.

Your short message to all UNO-R READS scholars…

To my fellow READS Scholar, we must appreciate and thank God for this opportunity, this kind of prestigious program, for with this, maybe our dream and hopes to become successful individual someday will vanish.
