UNO-R launches and implements CLAYGO Policy

UNO-R launches and implements CLAYGO Policy

In line with its environmental advocacy, the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos through the Supreme Student Government formally launches and implements the University CLAYGO Policy beginning Monday, February 10, 2014. This campus-wide environmental activity aims at ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the school environment as well as for the safety of all UNO-Rians.

With this new project, UNO-Recoletos once more demonstrates its commitment and effort in making our school become truly a clean, green and safe academic community for everyone. But this will never be realized without the support and cooperation of each member of the community.

So, in behalf of the UNO-R administrators and student leaders, your blogger enjoins every UNO-Rian—young and not so young, students, teachers and non-teaching personnel, and all men and women of goodwill who simply love UNO-R and care for our Mother Earth to be CLAYGO crusaders and watchers. Let us unite our minds, hearts and hands together in this environmental project.

In connection with this activity, on February (Saturday), an orientation will be given to the CLAYGO Watchers at the University Student Center, 8:30 in the morning. And on February 10, CLAYGO Day, students may enter the campus in GREEN SHIRTS in support for the implementation of the said policy.

Here’s the full text of the official communication to this effect which was released by the UNO-RSSGO President John Floyd D. Abarico and signed by the University President and Vice President for Student Welfare:

CLAYGO POLICY

Effective February 10, 2014, the UNO-R Supreme Student Government will be implementing the Clean as You Go (CLAYGO) Policy in our University.

With this new policy, we look forward on seeing everyone in the university do the following:

IN OUR CANTEEN

1.    Clean eating area after eating.

2.    Bring utensils (plate, spoon, fork etc.) and food waste in the designated CLAYGO Area.

3.    Throw trash in the proper waste receptacle.

IN THE UNIVERSITY GROUNDS

1.    Observe the three meter radius rule (Anti Littering Rule) students, faculty members and staff should maintain a litter-free area within three (3) meters radius from where they are located anywhere inside the campus.

2.    Segregate and dispose trash properly.

There will be CLAYGO Watchers who will be responsible in reporting the violators of the said policy. Disciplinary action will be imposed on anyone who fails to observe the policy.

First Offense - Warning with an order to clean the area where the violator is found violating the rule.

Second Offense - Oral Reprimand with an order to clean the area where the student is found violating the rule and to clean a particular area in the school campus.

Third Offense - Non-issuance of Certificate of Good Moral Character with an order to clean the area where the student is found violating the rule and to clean a particular area in the school campus.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Yours in Student Empowerment,
