Congratulations, Michael! You may not have brought home the gold medal, but you made us and your country feel proud of your performance in the Sochi Winter Olympic 2014. Young as he is, the lone Filipino Sochi Olympian has a bright figure skating future ahead of him. He will have more time to hone his skating skills for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Martinez has still made history as the first Southeast Asian skater to perform at the Winter Olympics.
