The
Star of Tolentine Award is given to a retiree of UNO-R in appreciation and
gratitude for his/her legacy of service which has contributed significantly to
the promotion and encouragement of the total educative action of UNO-R: The
Cradle of Excellence as inspired by Saint Augustine and in the spirit of the
Recollect tradition.
The recipient of this award: 1) has
formally applied for age 60 retirement as stipulated in the OAR Retirement
Plan; 2) may
be full-time or part-time employee (teaching or non-teaching) provided that
he/she must have rendered a minimum of ten (10) years of uninterrupted service
to the University; and 3) must
not have been sanctioned by the school administration for having committed any
act contrary to the vision-mission, policies and procedures of the University.
A recipient’s compulsory retirement must fall
within the school calendar of the current school year (June – May). A retiree
whose retirement date falls outside of the June-May time frame of the current
school year will be considered for the succeeding awards.
The presentation of the award is held during
the University Week Celebration in a testimonial dinner in honor of the
awardees.

The
Saint Ezekiel Moreno Service Award is given to permanent, full-time teaching or
non-teaching personnel of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos after
he/she has continuously served the University for a specific number of years.
Originally organized and held during the
Golden Jubilee Celebration of the University (1946-1996), the said award aims
to: 1) give
recognition to an employee of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos
for having dedicated part of his/her productive life to the service of the
University; 2) give
incentive to an employee for his/her service to the University and to inspire
him/her to remain loyal to the institution and her Mission-Vision Statement; 3) serve
as motivation to other employees to remain loyal to the University; and 4)
share
with them the material and spiritual blessings that the University has been
endowed with.
The recipient of the award will receive a
plaque of appreciation, a service ring (for 25th Year Awardee) and
cash gift.
