PERSONAL THOUGHTS

Motto:

“Learn, Live and Lead for Christ.”

Describe yourself:

I’m a Christocentric individual, adventurous and fun who wants to discover new things, very appreciative, forgiving and thoughtful. I’m fond of writing oratorical pieces and other articles. I’m very passionate in helping and serving people. I have always been interested in health because it is just so simple for me.  I love helping people because it gives me great joy. I consider my birth as a true nurse and am very blessed indeed!

What does it mean to be a UNO-Rian?

A UNO-Rian succeeds in all ways. A true UNO-Rian knows how to value life as they were anchored spiritually towards the best of it. A UNO-Rian never gives up instead they become more determined in pursuing their chosen career. As a UNO-Rian we are taught how to become a good steward who always seeks God's guidance in reaching our dreams. A true UNO-Rian possesses great character, molded by its 8 Core Values. And most of all, with self-respect, dignity and passion, UNO-Rian lead all the way!

What is your greatest achievement?

The greatest achievement I ever had was when I was given recognition by Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as a Student Entrepreneurship Awardee during my High School Graduation. I've won gold medal in the Regional Taekwondo Competition and a member of the Philippine Taekwondo Association since 2008. But the greatest achievement of all is reaching 19 fruitful years in this world with God's blessings and guidance that made me felt as an achiever.

If there is one event in your life that you want to change, what would it be? Why?

If there is one event in my life in the past that I want to change, it would be when I enrolled in the other school where I've took up a course that I thought I would be happy and satisfied. I spent almost 2 years on that course but unfortunately, my heart and mind say that "to be a nurse" is my first choice. But God never abandoned me on my way instead. He let me [pursue] what I want to be. It feels so great that I’m now a member of the UNO-R Community and now being a Recoletos Nurse [student]!

Despite the natural calamities happening in our country, how can you say that it's still more fun in the Philippines?

Despite of the natural calamities, I can say that it’s still more fun in the Philippines because of the PEOPLE itself! We remain so BLESSED as Filipinos, never forget to offer our hearts to those victims who badly need help. Filipinos never forget to share what they've got to others, and most of all, Filipinos never forget to seek God's guidance and help with all the calamities happening. United as one in all the tragedies, we help each other, recovering with strength who never gives up. And there, I can say that it’s still more fun in the Philippines because of you guys, my dear fellow FILIPINOS!

How does it feel representing your college to the prestigious Mister and Miss UNO-R 2013 Pageant?

It feels so much pressured and excited as well. All in my mind is to represent the College of Nursing with pride and so much of respect and gratitude. With the help of God, I know I can do this and I offer these to Him. I'll just do the best that I can and God will do the rest, because I believe in Him.

What are your preparations for this pageant?

With all the preparations, I’m just so glad that the College of Nursing Student Council is helping me and my partner because we will be representing our beloved College. I’ll just have to set myself 100% prepared before the big event. Prayers would do, but then again, I just believe God in all His plans.

Among the candidates, who do you think is your best competitor?

Well, I don’t need to name it. All of us want to win the crown. I believe that all the candidates will be doing their best also, and yet I consider each of them as my best competitor. All hope that may the best man win!

What or who motivated to win this pageant?

Aside from my family who is always there for me, the College of Nursing motivated me to win the crown. My respective Clinical Instructors and Dean Sheila Arnibal and with all the students of CON, I know we can make this through. GOD is indeed a great motivation!

What do you think is the relevance/importance of Mister/Miss UNO-R to the academic community?

It can be a motivation or an inspiration in their academic field to every UNO-Rians who wants to be part of Mr. and Ms UNO-R. Once you've been part of it, as a candidate you will be a steward academically to every UNO-Rians and must have a real advocacy that can benefit the students and the entire UNO-R Community especially in the field of academics.

If you win the crown, what would be your personal advocacy?

My personal advocacy is to gain a sustainable and a well-cleaned environment through supporting the University and the Government Campaign in the rehabilitation of the environment. As a concerned young citizen, we have in our hands the future and we can indeed make a change. Advocacy to support the environment especially that nowadays floods and landslides are the norm. We should also need to avoid using plastic bags as a packaging material and we need to start it within the UNO-R Community. Once we have a cleaner environment, it would be a great factor to gain a healthy lifestyle because I believe that environment can really affect our health!

Why should you be crowned Mister UNO-R 2013?

I should be crowned as Mister UNO-R 2013 because I have a HEART ready to offer and render quality service for the sake of everyone. With the help of God, I know that all things are possible and yet, with all these skills and the talents I’ve got, I’ll have to use them not just for my own sake but for the benefit of everyone. [I have] a HEART to offer, a SERVICE to render, and to be a student CARETAKER!

PERSONAL THOUGHTS

Motto:

 “Live for the moment.”

Describe yourself:

Skinny and Simple

What does it mean to be a UNO-Rian?

To be a UNORIAN is simply being humble or having the trait of humility.

What is your greatest achievement?

I guess I can say that my greatest achievement was being able to pass the primary and secondary level of my education in this University and if God permits, I would consider receiving my college diploma as a major achievement. To graduate in this University with a quality education is an achievement itself.

If there is one event in your life that you want to change, what would it be? Why?

I don’t want to change anything for I believe that everything happens for a reason and a purpose. Whatever happened in the past gave me lessons to be learned.

Despite the natural calamities happening in our country, how can you say that it's still more fun in the Philippines?

Despite the natural calamities happening in our country, I can say that it is still more fun in the Philippines simply because of the smiles of the Filipinos. Despite the storms and rains, the Filipino spirit is water proof. Despite the earthquakes, we remain unshakeable. The Filipinos show that no matter how many storms may pass, the smiles on our faces are symbols of hope.

How does it feel representing your college to the prestigious Mister and Miss UNO-R 2013 Pageant?

It has been an honor to represent my college, I enjoy just being myself and just doing what I think is best. No pressure at all.

What are your preparations for this pageant?

One preparation is refining myself through self-realization on what I could acquire more to be worthy of the title, Miss UNO-R as well as building up my confidence through casually practicing on how I present myself.

Among the candidates, who do you think is your best competitor?

They are all great competitors. Each and every one of us has an equal chance of winning this contest.

What or who motivated to win this pageant?

Since it is my last year here in my Alma Mater, the opportunity itself has motivated me to join this contest; an opportunity like this only comes once, so might as well grab it.

What do you think is the relevance/importance of Mister and Miss UNO-R to the academic community?

A prestigious pageant like this has the opportunity to showcase and feature the students’ capacities and uniqueness. It proves to the world that UNO-R is a university that produces, trains and teaches the best values and qualities to the students, prepares them to be a competent and succeed in whatever field they may take.

If you win the crown, what would be your personal advocacy?

If I win the crown, my personal advocacy would be to be of service not only to my fellow students but to the people who also need help. If an office or organization would help me I love to organize an outreach program for the geriatric (old aged) patients or for the street children.

Why should you be crowned Miss UNO-R 2013?

I should be crowned Miss UNO-R 2013 to make a difference and show my fellow students that humility is the best virtue that is taught and instilled in this University known to be as the cradle of excellence.
